no, jason has changed his mind again with the route he is taking on his car.
Also, the dynos for te lower plenum and upper plenum together have not been done, since a few of our customers have stated already that it doesn't work too well on the 287 "HP motor, while on the 300 HP motor, an upper plenum still adds power.....
So we basically ditched the idea altogether since no one here has an 05 300hp Z to test on.... well, not yet....

The lower plenum is available through our web site here:
http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...oducts_id=3328
click on the picture to enlarge a comparison between the older 287 plenum and the new 300 hp plenum.
I love mine, it helps give the car the power it lacks on the last few hundred RPMs. 6th gear on the fwy, above 80mph is a lot more fun now

I didn't read all the other posts, but just looked at the graph and I'm confused as to why anyone would want to use this.
You lost power AND torque throughout the entire rpm range except for the last 350rpm. It seems to be a little more linear throughout the whole range, but at a pretty big cost imo.

WHen you drive a car with this plenum installed, you do not notice the loss in the mid range. When you drive, anything about 5k rpms is much better, and is improved greatly. Every car will handle this differently, but It's one of the best mods I have done on my car.
Don't knock it till you try it on this one folks. If you are strictly looking at the numbers, well..... i'll keep my opinions to myself.....
We've sold many of the lower plenums and nobody has complained.

I believe the spacer is an OEM spacer taken from the 300 hp engine.

the 300hp motor doesn't have any spacers, it's just a completely new lower plenum

My bad, that's what I meant. The plenum for sale in this thread is the plenum form the 300 hp motor correct?

I remember reading that they changed the timing a little bit as well, but I believe the lower plenum is the only physical parts difference.
For anyone with a 287hp Z, I don't see how this would ever be beneficial, especially if you can't use it in conjunction with an upper plenum. The dynos for a spacer are more promising than this piece, and a Crawford upper plenum replacement certainly blows the doors off a lower. I'd rather spend a couple hundred more for that and a strut brace and get gains everywhere, rather than lose power in 80% of my useable powerband.
I dunno... this just doesn't seem worth it.

There are plenty of threads and posts both on here and on My350Z regarding the differences, some are a kind of a long read...
Basically, the engines have many different parts, there's the new variable timing (both intake and exhaust side), there's the new lower plenum, new heads, new cams (to acoomodate the variable timing), new parts in the bottom end, and all of these parts are really deisgned to accomodate the slightly higher revving characteristics, as well as create more power higher up, where as before our motors made most of the power down low. there are many other slightly different parts as well. The only real beneficial thing that you can swap is the lower manifold.
Consider this Nissan's next step to their developed engine that they will use in the Skyline (more than likely, although we have no clue as what that car will really have)....
So even though the new rev-up motor has only a few more HP than the previous 287 motor, the way the motor is designed is actually quite a bit different, which means that it will respond to basic mods differently (usually better) than the older version engine. It's a thurough re-design of the 287 version, that just "happens" to have more HP. they didn't really design the 300hp motor just to make a few extra ponies, they could have done that with some exhaust tuning instead of all the re-engineering.
